Black Swan

What's it about? Nina is an innocent ballerina cast as the new swan queen , her story takes a dark turn as she struggles to play the Black swan in order to execute a perfect performance.
Starring? Natalie Portman , Vincent Cassel , Mila Kunis , Babara Hershey
Natalie Portman truly desrves every award she has won for her tribute to this film. She manages to maintain the films intensity at such a degree whilst executing the complexities of her two sided character. It is a tense watch , keeping the audience restless throughout. The plot is fantastically original , a dark twisted take on the world of ballet that will keep you guessing. Aronofsky direction maintains a balanced level of lust , horror and ambiguity , drawing the audinece into the sinister tale. Far from a relaxing watch , and more frighteningly twisted than one can imagine. A story of insanity and passion that never quite draws the line between the real and the fantastical. A mesmerising watch with a deeply dark edge.

Verdict? 4 stars , a thrilling tale that draws out the sinister side of ballet.
